An interview with Nate Bolt

About Nate Bolt

Research Manager on the Facebook design team. Was CEO of Bolt | Peters and adjunct professor at SVA iXD. Wrote the book Remote Research, created ethnio, 1197, and that one airplane time lapse.

Nate and I talked about why UX research sometimes gets ignored, how remote research can help get better buy-in for UX projects and how to deal with people who disregard qualitative research. I shared a cool trick for solving the "5 users are not enough" problem for usability testing and Nate talked about getting emotional during conversations with UX stakeholders. We finished our little conversation talking about effective deliverables (hint: none), UX research for startups, and Nate's least favorite question to ask users.
